As an SQL DBA, you’ll jump into the thick of it, ensuring our clients’ databases are robust, fast, and always available. Responsibilities:

Manage and maintain SQL databases (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL, SQL Server) for top-tier performance and uptime.

Optimize queries, indexes, and database structures for speed and efficiency.

Automate backup and recovery processes to safeguard data with zero downtime.

Monitor database performance with tools or custom scripts, fixing issues on the fly.

Secure databases with user roles, encryption, and audit trails.

Configure replication and clustering for scalability and failover reliability.

Diagnose and resolve performance hiccups, deadlocks, and connection failures.

Work with the team to integrate databases into automated workflows and cloud setups.

Keep technical documentation tight and useful for fellow engineers.
Preferred Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or equivalent hands-on experience.

3+ years managing production SQL databases as a DBA or similar role.

Expertise in SQL platforms like MySQL, PostgreSQL, or Microsoft SQL Server.

Solid scripting chops (e.g., Python, Bash, PowerShell) for automation.

Experience with database monitoring, tuning, and optimization tools.

Familiarity with cloud-hosted databases (e.g., RDS, Azure SQL) and replication setups.

Comfort working remotely in an all-engineer team obsessed with reliability.
